CNA Program

You can find number of programs in your locality or community which can help you in certified nursing assistant training. You can find these CNA program in some high schools, community colleges or some health care centers etc even you can find them online. Some centers offer free CNA program training. Sometimes these CNA program needs previous experience but you have to have high school diploma to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.

CNA program can be of few weeks or some months. For short duration CNA program, experienced students are preferred and for the long time CNA program fresher or inexperience students can prefer. Short term CNA program doesn’t provide any extra information. Student should choose CNA program according to their need. CNA training program doesn’t only tell you about medical care but also have the course regarding patience, calmness and good health.

CNA program is mandatory under the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act. CNA program duration also varies from state to state. Every state has its own definite minimum hours of CNA class room training and on-job training which a student has to complete before the CNA examination.

The first part of the CNA training program consists of the text book and handouts which provide the basic nursing daily practices like grooming, helping, check up, medication etc. Class room CNA training program is conducted by registered or licensed nurse (RN).

In the second part, on-job training program you will be taught about the diagnosis, checking the blood pressure, testing, maintain records, medication etc. under the supervision of the licensed or registered nurse RN.

Now what after training? It is time for CNA certification which you will receive after CNA examination which will also have two parts one is written and medical or practical under the supervision of RN. Some states allow students to train or do the internship in between the duration of their CNA examination and CNA certification. And after the CNA certification you are a registered as a nurse assistant and allowed to do CNA jobs.
